The original AoFu 7x7 used to be the king of 7x7 several years ago, before the X-Man Spark was released. Now, MoYu is bringing back the series with their new, updated AoFu WR M. Is this exciting release better than the current best 7x7s on the market?

Specifications

The AoFu WR M is 65 millimeters across, which is far smaller than the standard 7x7 size. It weighs 164 grams, which is very lightweight for a 7x7. This combination of size and weight gives it an airy feel that's easier to handle.

The pieces of the cube are designed with an enhanced lube storage system, allowing the cube to retain a faster, smoother feel for longer.

It only comes in stickerless bright plastic with a split piece design.

The MoYu AoFu WR M 7x7 currently costs $49.95, which is $10 cheaper than the Spark M and $15 more than the MGC 7. It's a nice middle ground in terms of price for flagship 7x7s.

Accessories

The AoFu WR M is fairly simple with regards to accessories, including only a screwdriver and a nice box.

Adjustment

Unlike a lot of newer MoYu cubes, the AoFu WR M doesn't come with any customization options apart from a basic screw tensioning system.

Performance

Out of the box, the AoFu WR M comes with a quick, dry feeling. Both the inner and outer layers of the 7x7 turn with ease, which is desirable for larger NxN puzzles as it allows for faster turning. Its speed can make the cube feel loose which may cause lockups if turning inaccurately; however, this can be fixed with setup. Tightening the cube makes it more stable and allows for more rough turning, but it also makes the inner layers much slower.

With regards to magnets, the AoFu has light magnets that complement the size and weight of the cube to make it feel airy.

AoFu WR M vs Spark M

The AoFu WR M is $10 cheaper than the Spark M, immediately making it more appealing. In addition, it has a more premium feel - it's airy and crisp compared to the mushy, heavy feeling of the Spark M.

It just feels a lot better, and it's less money. So it's kind of hard to go wrong with the AoFu in my opinion. Cameron Brown

The AoFu WR M is also considerably lighter and smaller than the Spark M, making it easier to do long sessions without fatiguing.

Everything considered, I think the AoFu is probably the best 7x7 right now. Cameron Brown

Conclusion

Overall, the MoYu AoFu WR M 7x7 is a solid release. The small, light, and airy design of the cube makes the AoFu WR M very appealing and it's arguably the best 7x7 on the market.

Im going to be honest here. This is a little dated and expensive. Go look on youtube for reviews of huanglongs or something else. I own this, and sure its really good, but you can do better for this much money.

This puzzle corner-cuts about 1 cubie, forward and back, its fast, sandy ootb, but wears in smooth. It does weird lock-ups, and sometimes pops, but its not like the shengshou lockups. Just get something better for this much money, even on sale.

Its great and smooth

I love this cube its really smooth i lubed it with silk and its faster and smoother. Kinda expensive some stickers came off (they stuck right back on) and a orange sticker turned purple (that was most likely me i wouldn't worry about that). if your going to buy this wait for a sale. all in all its a great cube.

INCREDIBLE

This cube is outstanding. Right out of the box this cube performs amazingly. This cube is worth much more than it costs

Quality cube

Very stable cube that smooths out after 5 scrambles! A must for large cube solvers out there 👍🏻

Better than the Wuji (for me at least)

This is very much the best on the market. This cube is so smooth and buttery. The no click feel felt weird at first because most 7x7s have a clicky feeling at first. I feel that this cube has more corner cutting than is actually needed. I broke it in with about 200 solves and put some lubicle silk and Definitely Not Maru-37 (DNM-37) and it became crazy smooth and fast. also I tightened it by half a hand from stock tensions which made this cube wonderful. Overall this cube is great and what JRCuber said about this puzzle is absolutely correct. "We are nowhere near perfect, but I think we're getting close." -JRCuber Overall I give this cube a 9.7/10.

P.S. If you want a cheaper 7x7, get the Yuxin HuanLong. I give that cube a 8.8/10. And if you want to know I give the Qiyi Wuji a 7.9/10.

Amazing

This cube has had nothing but good reviews, and I agree with everyone. When tensions a bit looser then stock tensions and adding a bit of maru this cube is amazing. I like this one better than the pillowed one because the grip is better, but I have very small hands, so the pillowed one fits a bit better in my hands, but if you have large hands definitely get the Cubic AoFu 7x7 GT. :)

No much to say

Okay, i used a v7 for a long time and never got a sub 10 minutes. then it broke and i needed a new one. So, i ordered this, and first solve that i made, was sub 8, So if you want a good 77, Get this!

awesome 7x7!!!!!!

out of the box, it turned very well on all the layers and had no doubt. its pretty good for speed solving, and perfect for everyone!!!

Best one on the market right now, EASILY

MoYu makes really good large cubes, and this is no exception. Moves very well, smooth turns, no clicky feeling, and I dont get multiple layer mis-alignments on this cube which is huge. Turning a layer and having the next layer partly turn is what plagues most large cubes for me, this cube does not however. I will be amazed the day a better 7x7 comes out, as this cube redefined 7x7 cube quality standards. Don't cheap out and buy a lower priced 7x7, you will not even want to solve a poorly designed large cube.
